Jews United For Justice Endorses Rashida
I’m honored to be endorsed by Jews United for Justice Campaign Fund!
JUFJ has long been a moral force in our city—organizing for racial, social, and economic justice, standing up for immigrant communities, fighting for housing people can afford, workers’ rights, and real public safety rooted in care for community and justice. Their work reflects the values that guide my campaign every day.
This endorsement means a great deal to me because it’s about solidarity, shared priorities and shared purpose: building a Ward 1 where everyone belongs, where government is accountable, and where policy choices put people first. I’m proud to stand alongside JUFJ in the fight for dignity, equity, and justice—for all our neighbors.
This is also a historic moment for Ward 1—and for DC democracy.
DC has officially passed Ranked Choice Voting, and I’m proud to be part of what this makes possible: a more inclusive, issues-focused, people-powered democracy.
I’m honored to receive a joint endorsement from Jews United for Justice alongside Aparna Raj, fellow Ward 1 candidate for DC Council. JUFJ’s decision reflects what RCV is all about—creating space for candidates to run on shared values, build coalitions, and engage voters without tearing one another down.
I want to congratulate Aparna on this endorsement and recognize our shared commitment to many of the same priorities JUFJ has long fought for: racial and economic justice, housing stability, dignity for workers and immigrants, and a city that governs with care and accountability.
RCV is good for Ward 1 voters because it encourages collaboration over conflict, gives residents more voice and choice, and keeps the focus where it belongs—on the policies and values that will move our community forward.
I’m grateful to JUFJ for their leadership, and excited for what this new chapter of democracy can mean for our city.
